What if the pain, tension, constipation, leaking, or back discomfort you have been dealing with is not just something you have to live with? In this episode of The Well Known Podcast, Shannon Conklin sits down with Dr. Ally Halbig, founder of The PT Spot, to unpack a whole-body approach to physical therapy, pelvic floor health, pregnancy and postpartum recovery, nervous system regulation, sleep, hydration, and movement. Their conversation is a reminder that wellness is not about piling on more treatments - it is about understanding what your body is communicating and learning how to work with it instead of against it.
What You’ll Learn
Why pain in one area of the body may actually be driven by dysfunction somewhere else.
How pelvic floor dysfunction can show up as constipation, hip or back pain, jaw tension, painful intimacy, leaking, and more.
Why stress, breath-holding, poor sleep, and chronic tension can keep the body stuck in a “brakes on” state.
What women can do during pregnancy and postpartum to support movement, strength, breathing, and pelvic floor function.
Why learning to relax and breathe well may be one of the most foundational wellness practices.

Dr. Ally Halbig
PT, DPT, CFMT, CSCS - Founder of The PT Spot, P.C
Ally Halbig is a physical therapist and personal trainer dedicated to helping people heal, move better, and return to the activities they love. At The PT Spot, she works with patients to recover from injury, improve mobility, build strength, and feel more confident in their everyday lives.
Ally’s path to physical therapy was shaped by her experiences as a competitive college soccer player, where she saw firsthand how injuries can affect not only an athlete’s body but also their overall quality of life. Watching teammates navigate rehabilitation and recovery inspired her to pursue a career helping others rebuild strength and regain mobility.
Her passion for physical therapy was further strengthened by watching a close relative experience serious physical limitations due to illness. Seeing how physical therapy helped restore mobility, independence, and confidence reinforced her belief in the impact effective rehabilitation can have on a person’s life.
Today, Ally combines her experience in physical therapy, personal training, and athletics to help patients move more freely, recover effectively, and get back to doing what they love.
